Liz Ulmer is currently the General Manager of THEATERWORKS, a premier provider of theatrical experiences for young and family audiences across North America. She oversees administrative operations for dozens of tours and workshops annually.
Prior to her engagement at TheaterWorks, Liz was the Managing Director of the New York Musical Festival (NYMF), the world's largest festival devoted to musical theatre that annually presents almost 50 productions, readings, workshops and educational events over a 4-week period.
Producing credits include the New York Times Critic's Pick Independents (Soho Playhouse) and I Got Fired: The Revenge Musical (NYC premiere and subsequent production in Daegu, South Korea). General Management credits include Real Men (New World Stages) and the multimedia spectacle Wing-Man (Ars Nova). Prior to becoming NYMF's Managing Director, she helmed individual NYMF shows such as Georama (Peter Jay Sharp Theater, Playwrights Horizons); Academia Nuts (Pershing Square Signature Center); Date of a Lifetime (McGinn/Cazale Theatre); Flambé Dreams (45th Street Theatre), and the circus/trapeze musical The Awakening of Angel DeLuna (Pershing Square Signature Theatre Center).
As a company manager, she worked with Davenport Theatrical (Clinton the Musical at New World Stages) and DR Theatrical Management (Tail! Spin! at Lynn Redgrave Theater and Stalking the Bogeyman at New World Stages).
Liz's charity concerts, produced at New World Stages, Laurie Beechman Theatre, Green Room 42, and the Triad (Stage 72), have benefited Artists Striving to End Poverty, Planned Parenthood, and the Human Rights Campaign, among others.
She has served as a guest lecturer at NYU Tisch School of The Arts ("Theatrical Administration"), and City University of New York ("Project Management").
Liz is a member of the Off-Broadway League and Off-Broadway Alliance, and a graduate of Ithaca College.
